What You'll Do.
Providing the technical interface with suppliers in order to ensure the highest quality of parts and products are received by Teledyne FLIR when needed.
Responding to quality issues and driving resolution.
Technical assessments of new and existing suppliers targeted at improving processes and reducing supply chain risk.
Coordinating tasks of identifying and qualifying alternates to end-of-life materials.
Assisting design engineering in design for manufacturability and identifying appropriate suppliers to support design efforts during new product development phases.
Responding to component availability/end of life issues and coordinating with engineering resources to identify and qualify alternates.
Assisting in the troubleshooting material/component issues in Production.
Maintaining component bill-of-material (BOM) lists in BOM manager software and reacting to Product Change Notices (PCNs).
Reviewing/analyzing production material failures and making dispositions in Material Review Board (MRB).
Monitoring material failures and trends and seeking/developing corrective action plans.
Updating documentation when needed to provide necessary detail to suppliers.
Participating in supplier evaluation
recommending new suppliers when required.
Compiling and analyzing incoming inspection and in-process statistical data to evaluate supplier performance and recommending improvements or corrective actions.
requesting and analyzing relevant supplier provided data.
Performing supplier audits as required to review performance and communicate plans for ongoing improvement.
Prioritizing suppliers and incoming parts that require improvement and developing action plans that will drive the desired improvements.
Working with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering during new product development to assist in defining plans for new parts and suppliers that will support the effective launch into production.
Working with engineering and manufacturing engineering to review specifications for manufacturability and quality improvement related issues.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers and departments involved with the relationship.
Providing input to internal test and inspection processes
equipment and standards.
Reviewing all relevant Quality System documentation to ensure compliance to AS9100 standards.
Assisting suppliers in the identification of absolute root cause and correction of quality and delivery issues.
Using the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process to formalize the communication of corrective action with suppliers
following up on actions taken to ensure that results support the plan for improvement.

We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins. **Job Description** **Job Summary:** The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for providing the technical interface with suppliers in order to ensure the highest quality of parts and products are received by Teledyne FLIR when needed. This includes responding to quality issues and driving resolution, technical assessments of new and existing suppliers targeted at improving processes and reducing supply chain risk, and coordinating tasks of identifying and qualifying alternates to end-of-life materials.
