Ability to lift and move heavy items as required for maintenance and grounds tasks, Valid driver's license (if applicable for certain tasks), May be required to travel to local on and off campus locations, Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus, Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business, Regularly lift up-to 50+ or fewer pounds, The work environment for this position typically involves both indoor and outdoor settings., The role may involve exposure to potentially hazardous materials and situations, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of protective equipment., The position also entails frequent exposure to environmental factors such as extreme temperatures, dust, dirt, fumes, smoke, and loud noises., If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel., Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Must Have
High school diploma or GED, Ability to lift and move heavy items as required for maintenance and grounds tasks, Valid driver's license (if applicable for certain tasks), Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information, Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner, Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University, Computer skills, Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature, May be required to travel to local on and off campus locations, May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard, Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally, Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus, Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business, Regularly lift up-to 50+ or fewer pounds, Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner, Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ
Nice to Have
Some experience or interest in maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial services, or office administration preferred, Basic knowledge of plumbing, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks is a plus
What You'll Do.
Perform routine air filter changes for HVAC systems
Assist with light carpentry
and mechanical repairs
Help with basic plumbing tasks
Assist in tracking and managing the inventory of maintenance tools
Support in preventive maintenance tasks
Manage composting operations
Help with the collection
and disposal of waste materials
Assist in maintaining recycling stations
Assist with maintaining sports fields
Assist with street and grounds cleaning
Perform basic landscaping tasks
Clean and sanitize indoor spaces
Empty trash bins and replace liners
Monitor and restock custodial supplies
Assist with general office duties
Help organize and maintain filing systems
Assist with scheduling routine maintenance
Assist with tracking maintenance activities
waste management reports
and other operational logs
Assist with preparing work orders
Assist with setting up and breaking down events or meetings
Help with other office-related tasks
Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations
Be available to assist with emergency repairs or cleaning tasks as they arise
