Associate Degree or higher, or 48 college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam, Pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance, Able to work everyday (M-F) during the summer program, Previous experience working with kids and the ability to independently lead and supervise up to 20 students while playing, doing homework, and implementing enrichment activities, Able to communicate openly, professionally, and maintain confidentiality at all times, Complete all mandated training (Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, SEL PQA etc.), Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time, Ability to communicate effectively in English with students and families, Basic English reading proficiency to support students' academic development, enrichment offerings, and school day alignment

Supervise classrooms of 10-20 students and create engaging activities
Provide homework and academic support for program participants

Report incidents in a timely manner

_**Job Description:**_ # The Assistant Instructor is a committed and passionate person who supports the Program Instructors with academic and physical activities in our After School Programs. Assistant Instructors must be able to work with up to 20 youths during after-school program hours Monday through Friday. **Position Title:** Summer Program: Assistant Instructor **Reports To:** Program Coordinator Purpose: _Expanded learning programs are structured educational opportunities that occur during the summer, combining academic support, enrichment activities, and skill-building to enhance students’ overall learning and development._ The purpose of the Summer Program Instructor is to provide a safe, supportive, engaging, and interactive learning environment for students, in alignment with the Expanded Learning Program's 12 quality standards during the Summer program. The ideal candidate is creative, energetic, and passionate about education and youth development. Commitment to a seasonal/temporary position, continuous youth development, and connection to our communities and families are our top priorities. **Benefits:** * Pay rate: $23 - $25 an hour, based on regional grant funding and experience * Full-time, seasonal/temporary position * 40 hours per week, Starting June 11, 2026 - July 24, 2026 * Weekly Schedule, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 am-5:00 pm * Seasonal/temporary positions will not receive the 2 paid holidays that occur during the Summer Program * Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay.
