JOB SUMMARY: The SUE Utility Locator is responsible for identifying, locating, and mapping underground utilities to support surveying and construction projects. This role uses tools such as electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to accurately determine the position and depth of utilities like water, gas, electric, and telecommunications lines. The position works closely with project teams and external partners to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located. What you will do: Perform field investigations to locate underground utilities using electromagnetic locating equipment and GPR systems Interpret data to determine utility type, depth, and alignment Mark utilities on-site using industry-standard methods and practices Document findings and maintain accurate records of utility locations and field activities Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of locating equipment Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and utility owners to verify and communicate findings Support project planning and execution by providing accurate subsurface data Maintain organized field notes, reports, and supporting documentation Stay current on utility locating technology, tools, and industry best practices Assist with training and mentoring less experienced team members Follow safety procedures
