Main Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate lathes to a specific instruction. Read and use a variety of measurement devices including dial indicator, dial turner calipers, ruler, pie tape, tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and other precise measurement devices as needed Read and interpret job tickets instructions correctly and roll drawings Fill in where needed per supervisor direction working other jobs (expect interruptions) Operate a fork truck safely following training Use overhead crane, slings and straps safely per training to lift, shift or move rolls Responsible for various odd jobs around the facility as assigned by supervisor Install and remove any special fixtures, expanding mandrels, plugs and other tools as required Use proper training for lifting and operations of overhead cranes utilizing slings and straps to move rolls safely Notify supervisor with supply needs for department Maintain persona equipment including all PPE, hearing protection, and other equipment as required Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times Qualifications Language Skills Read, write, and understand English Good communication skills – written and spoken Ability to read mechanical drawings, analyze, and interpret common technical documents Ability to effectively present information to supervisors, management, subordinates, and others as required Mathematical Skills Understands/applies basic math, including accurate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Reasoning Ability Learn and understand required safe operating requirements Ability to define problems, collect needed data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram forms Physical Demands Stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time Reaches by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently Required ability to use fi
