Full Job Description
AWS Professional Services is seeking a Strategic Program Director to lead program governance for a landmark digital transformation engagement. This is a Perth-based program spanning multiple delivery streams — GenAI-powered application modernisation, digital foundations and AI platform deployment, and organisational change management — with a combined team of 29+ across AWS, a global management consulting partner, and specialist delivery partners. You will be the single point of accountability for program delivery, commercial management, and value realisation. You will represent AWS leadership on the Steering Committee, run executive governance with the customer and AWS leadership, and own the AWS relationship at the program level. This is a role for someone who leads through influence rather than authority — orchestrating outcomes across multiple technical streams, partner organisations, and executive stakeholders without direct line management of the delivery teams. Key job responsibilities Key Responsibilities Program Governance and Value Realisation - Own end-to-end program governance — Steering Committee cadence, executive reporting, investment decision support - Track and report value realisation against the multi-year business case at each governance gate - Manage cross-stream dependencies and integrated planning across all delivery streams - Lead risk and issue management across the program; be escalated to for resolution - Prepare for and lead the Post Investment Review at the 1-year mark Commercial and Stakeholder Management - Own the commercial relationship — manage program financials, negotiate scope and investment trade-offs, shape statements of work - Operate as a strategic advisor to the customer's CDIO and executive leadership at peer level - Partner with a global management consulting firm's Principal as an equal, maintaining AWS accountability for program outcomes - Engage with AWS senior leadership on program strategy, escalations, and resource co
