What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Minimum one (1) year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, Requires national certification as an SPD Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Mechanical aptitude with the ability to break down moving parts, clean, lubricate and reassemble, Problem solve incomplete trays and missing instrumentation, Effective organizational, communication and human relation skills

Nice to Have

Instrument management tracking system experience, Additional related education and/or experience

What You'll Do.

Provide decontamination and sterile processing support

Manage sterile surgical instrumentation and supplies

Perform decontamination

and packaging of surgical instruments

Perform quality assurance and repairs

Maintain sterilization logs and quality assurance records

Identify and interpret surgical schedule and medical terminology

Address and communicate special needs

Respond to emergent calls from the Operating Room

Determine priority level of instrumentation requests

Differentiate surgical instrumentation ownership

Track surgical instruments

Report needed replacement of surgical instruments

Utilize specialized equipment for decontamination

Operate steam and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers

Operate automated washers and disinfectors

Operate quality assurance testing equipment

Maintain a clean and safe environment

Adhere to Standard Precautions and Infection Control practices

Follow protocols for proper donning of PPE

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Collaborates with OR staff; Integral part of the OR team; Provides services to PeriOp Services, ED, ICU, hospital wide departments, clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers

Communication Scope

Well-timed communications; Communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person
