U. S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card required, Must pass or possess VA Public Trust Clearance, Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull heavy carts, bend repeatedly, lift above shoulder level, wear PPE for extended periods, work in a loud, hot, humid, and physically demanding environment
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent required, Basic Life Support certification required, Must hold or meet one of the required sterile processing credential/experience pathways: CRCST or higher through IAHCSMM/HSPA, VA Level 2 with at least 2 years of current SPS experience, HSPA or CBSPD certification, or at least 5 years of documented hands-on SPS experience for non-certified technicians, Must meet one required training pathway: nationally recognized CRCST program, Operating Room Technician program, or U. S. military Surgical Technician program, with at least 2 current years of documented SPS or related field experience, Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively, U. S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card required, Must pass or possess VA Public Trust Clearance, Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs. , push/pull heavy carts, bend repeatedly, lift above shoulder level, wear PPE for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding sterile processing environment
Nice to Have
Current CRCST, HSPA, or CBSPD certification, Recent sterile processing experience in a hospital, VA, military treatment facility, or federal healthcare setting, Experience with Sterrad, Medivator Advantage, Trophon, Cidex OPA, steam autoclaves, and flexible endoscope reprocessing
What You'll Do.
and distributing surgical instruments
and reusable medical equipment
Follow aseptic technique and infection prevention principles
Operate and monitor steam autoclaves and chemical sterilization systems
Perform biological testing
chemical indicator checks
and required documentation
Support high-level disinfection using systems such as Medivator Advantage
and manual Cidex OPA processing
Reprocess flexible endoscopes
including colonoscopes and gastroscopes
Identify damaged or broken instruments and locate replacements when available
Handle specialty instrumentation for general surgery
and microscopic procedures
Follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning
and high-level disinfection
Complete required compliance education

and regulatory requirements
Work safely while wearing required PPE in a loud
and physically demanding environment
