## Key Responsibilities Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and layout details for structural steel projects Fit and assemble components such as beams, columns, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals Perform layout work, measuring, cutting, and assembly using proper fabrication methods Operate shop equipment including ironworkers, mag drills, band saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and oxy-fuel torches Prepare materials for welding by tack fitting and aligning assemblies Utilize overhead cranes, rigging, and material handling equipment safely ## Qualifications 2+ years of experience in structural steel fitting or fabrication preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings Hands-on experience with layout, fit-up, and steel fabrication processes Familiarity with fabrication tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment Ability to handle heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods Experience with overhead cranes and rigging is a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety ## Preferred Skills Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) in a fabrication environment Ability to produce clean, high-quality FCAW welds on structural components Comfortable welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
