SALARY $57.000 POSITION SUMMARY Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for heating and air conditioning systems by applying knowledge of system operations and following blueprints PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES •    Installs and maintains heating and air conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping, using hand and power tools, and following specifications and blueprints. •    Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications. •    Cuts pipe using saw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine. •    Threads pipe, using saw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machines. •    Threads pipe, using pipe threading machines. •    Bends pipe, using pipe bending tools and pipe bending machine. •    Assembles and installs a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes and fittings. Connects pipes by welding. •    Connects pipes to structures with brackets, clamps and hangers, using hand and power tools. •    Secures pipes to structures with brackets, clamps and hangers, using hand and power tools. •    Test pipe system for leaks using approved methods and procedures. •    Insulate pipe and equipment. •    Performs other related duties as assigned. •    Drives CTA vehicles in the performance of duties and responsibilities of this position. •    Performs related duties as assigned.
