The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking a Statement of Concern Analyst to join the Regulatory Applications branch. A statement of concern (SOC) is a concise written submission describing concerns about a current AER application regarding a company’s proposed development. In this role, you will analyze and manage these submissions through the Statement of Concern Application Review (SOCAR) process. Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will help support clear, consistent, and well‑informed decisions. At the Alberta Energy Regulator, you’ll join a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovative problem-solving. As an analyst, you ensure fairness and consistency across AER application assessments. **What your day-to-day will look like:** * Independently identify and analyze Statements of Concern and create SOCAR documents. Through collaboration with a variety of AER staff, produce recommendations to the delegated decision maker regarding the disposition of an application with related SOCs. * Work collaboratively across the AER on applications with filed SOCs, sharing advice and expertise to ensure procedural fairness.
