Full Job Description
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. STARLINK SPECIALIST, TOOL AND DIE MANUFACTURING One of the most ambitious missions that SpaceX has undertaken to date, the Starlink satellite constellation, is our solution to providing reliable internet to the entire world. We are looking for talented manufacturing specialists to help establish new manufacturing and test processes to support Tool and Die. This department is responsible for producing dies (also known as tools or molds) used in processes such as injection molding, high pressure die casting, and stamping. These dies are the building blocks that enable in-house high volume production for user terminal components. The success of Starlink depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and throughput of the products that you deliver. This role will be an ideal next career step if you seek a fast-paced/dynamic environment, thrive on solving difficult problems where resolutions have high impact, and love the challenge of building something from scratch. RESPONSIBILITIES: Help execute new product builds from raw material across all CNC work and tool assembly Triage non-conforming machined components and help implement resolution and preventative actions Develop manufacturing standards that lead to increased consistency and reliability of the shop Work with the team to help developing in-house machining maintenance processes Identify continuous improvement opportunities for yield, rate, and cost Use CAD and part drawings to implement work instructions and validate part quality Work with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 3+ years of professional experience in a hands-on manufacturing
