What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Materials Engineering, Minimum 7–10 years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience, Demonstrated progression into roles with independent ownership of supplier qualification programs, Proven experience as a quality decision-maker on PPAP approvals, deviation dispositions, and SCAR closure, Deep working knowledge of at least two special processes, Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Materials & Process, and Supply Chain
Nice to Have
Automotive, aerospace, or industrial power generation background preferred, Coached or mentored less experienced quality engineers
What You'll Do.
Build and maintain trust-based relationships with assigned suppliers
Serve as the primary quality point of contact
Represent Mainspring's quality expectations
Own the supplier quality gate from NPI through
Develop control plans
Conduct process capability studies
Issue and drive closure of SCARs
Hold suppliers accountable to corrective action timelines
Validate corrective action effectiveness
Review and approve material and process deviation requests
Coordinate with Materials & Process Engineering and Design
Conduct supplier process audits and site visits
Assess compliance to control plans
Assess compliance to quality system requirements
Assess compliance to Mainspring standards
Own incoming inspection disposition
Manage NCR for assigned suppliers
Make timely and defensible quality decisions
Maintain SPC monitoring
Update control plans in steady-state production
Escalate negative trends
Act as subject matter expert on special processes
Provide guidance on qualification approaches
Provide guidance on audit methodology
Provide guidance on deviation disposition
