What They're Looking For.

Must Have

8+ years of experience building and operating production software, with meaningful ownership of systems from initial concept through launch and iteration, engineering fundamentals across backend systems, APIs, data modeling, and exposure to at least one modern frontend stack, Experience building full-stack products, not just isolated services or UI layers, Experience working with data pipelines, analytical systems, or document-heavy workflows, including schema design, ETL, query performance, and data reliability, Experience building AI-powered or workflow-driven applications, such as retrieval systems, agentic workflows, orchestration layers, evaluation pipelines, or structured generation systems, Comfort working across a broad technical surface area, including application code, infrastructure, databases, observability, and internal tooling, Ability to debug and improve complex production systems using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and engineering intuition, product sense and the ability to translate ambiguous business or user needs into thoughtful technical designs, Comfort partnering directly with customers and cross-functional teams to scope problems, validate solutions, and drive adoption, Clear, concise communication, a low-ego working style, and enthusiasm for collaborating in person with teammates in New York
