What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Substantial, hands-on experience in Data Engineering and Software Engineering, particularly with high-volume, business-critical pipelines, Experience maintaining and building modern data platforms and acting as a multiplier for other engineering teams, Deep, practical experience with our target stack: Dagster, dbt, Google BigQuery (GBQ), and AWS (ECS), software engineering fundamentals (CI/CD, testing, best practices, design patterns) applied to data engineering, Expert-level SQL and Python skills, Knowledge of infrastructure setups (docker, terraform/cloudformation)

Maintain and optimize the biggest and most fundamental pipelines in the company
Moving terabytes of data from MySQL in AWS to GBQ nightly
including daytime syncs that strictly avoid impacting source system performance
Take responsibility for the most critical reports in the company
which serve as the foundation for executive board decisions and act as a base for data teams in other departments
