Ph. D. or Master’s degree, 7+ years of experience, Proficiency in C++, GPU programming experience, Real-time robotic systems experience, Familiar with ROS/ROS2, Deep understanding of SLAM algorithms, Sensor fusion including Lidar, Camera, GNSS-INS, State estimation including Kalman Filters, Lidar and visual odometry methods, HD mapping systems, Tool development and data pipelines, Machine learning approaches for localization, Map features/semantics, Sensor calibration, Degradations/maintenance in real outdoor robotics, Safety critical software development processes, Simulation regression testing, Fleet-scale release validation, Mentoring junior/mid-level engineers, Guiding technical direction, Contributing to organizational growth, Excellent communication skills

We are seeking a Staff Research Scientist, Localization and Mapping to serve as a principal technical authority for our multi-disciplinary autonomy teams. In this individual contributor (IC) role, you will champion the research roadmap, essential tool developments, scalable map generation, scaling of simulation regression tests, and live autonomy stack core modules for safety-critical applications on driverless trucks in complex logistics yards.
