BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years experience complex mechanical parts, 5+ years SolidWorks CAD experience, 5+ years CAE tools experience, 5+ years working with Tier 1/2 manufacturers, Extensive experience high volume automated manufacturing, 3+ products launched experience, Well-versed injection molded plastic components, Knowledge Six Sigma statistical methods, Ability utilize statistical methods, Ability effectively communicate technical concepts

Experience with high volume injection molding preferred

Full Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: - - Complete technical ownership (at system level) of a next generation product from design concept to manufacturing release, ensuring performance, reliability, cost, and schedule targets are met - Lead mechanical design, analysis and development of mechanical components around micro-electronics, and exact industrial design visions and specifications, product requirements, and manufacturing constraints - Create SolidWorks CAD models to bring up design concepts that enable simulation exercises, prototyping, and mass production qualification - Generate technical documentation such as 3D files, 2D drawings, bills of material (BOM’s), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) following product development cycle timeline - Communicate and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams to align requirements, drive decisions, and resolve issues quickly - Drive organized, end-to-end DFM coordination across multiple vendors and manufacturing methods, aligning requirements, timelines, and technical decisions to deliver scalable, high-yield production - Partner with suppliers to explore and carry multiple material and design concepts in parallel - Communicate engineering changes to vendors and contract manufacturers as the product development cycle progresses - Design testing protocols and validation plans, managing testing processes - Perform thorough engineering root cause analyses to identify and resolve issues - Mentorship, engineering best practices - Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time QUALIFICATIONS: - - BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field - 10+ years of experience in the design, documentation and validation of complex mechanical parts for medium to high volume consumer electronics - 5+ years SolidWorks CAD experience with best practices for part design/ feature architecture, advanced assemblies, complex configuration management and integrating DFx feedback efficiently - 5+ years of experience implementing
