What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree - Chemical Engineering/Environmental Engineering or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience, Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, Sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills, Demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with matters, Experience in supporting research in wet and dry Chemical/Environmental and Biomolecular Engineering laboratory environments, Proven OHS knowledge and experience in complex Chemical Engineering teaching and research environment, Experience and knowledge in safe chemicals handling, waste management and disposal, Significant and relevant experience in managing/planning/supporting technical teams to provide services to researchers, Experience in scaling, troubleshooting, and developing practical classes, Unrestricted work rights in Australia
Nice to Have
Demonstrated experience in Water/Wastewater management
What You'll Do.
Provide expertise knowledge and technical support to researchers and students
and effective technical support
training and professional engineering advice
Provide sound teaching support for Unit of Study related to chemical engineering
materials engineering and chemistry laboratories
Supervision/co-supervision and/or guidance and technical expertise to students
project teams and interns
specialist advice and support to the development and implementation of the ongoing research strategy
Ensure that all activities within the work area comply with applicable Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards
Communicate specialist expertise in emerging technologies
Ensure that the Technical Area's systems
and documentation requirements are met
Plan and manage the effective utilisation of resources within the designated area of responsibility
Lead the users of the Technical Area in best practices and awareness of University policies and relevant WHS/compliance legislation
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Collaborate closely with researchers and key educators; Act as a primary point of contact for researchers within the Technical Area; Work in collaboration with academic researchers, technical staff and other TSS team members
