What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience, 8+ years of backend software development experience, Professional experience developing production backend services and APIs in Python, Hands on experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads, Experience deploying and operating services in AWS, Experience integrating agentic code generation tools such as Claude Code or Codex into day to day software engineering practices
Nice to Have
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform/CloudFormation/Pulumi, Familiarity with observability tools for logging, metrics, and tracing, Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, Understanding of architectural considerations for on premises deployments, including networking and security constraints, Knowledge of application security best practices (vulnerability management, security posture management, and risk assessment) and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, HITRUST)
What You'll Do.
Design and build scalable services that power mission-critical applications in a cloud native environment
Develop Python based systems deployed on Kubernetes and AWS
with a focus on reliability
Design and implement backend services and APIs using Python frameworks
Build and deploy containerized applications on Kubernetes in AWS
Leverage specific AWS services to power those applications
Extend infrastructure as code and improve CI/CD pipelines
Optimize system performance
Monitor production systems and resolve reliability and performance issues
