What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5-10 years of experience in Construction. Experience in blueprint reading, building codes, municipal requirements, and fire code. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and technology methods, industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling and general safety. Excellent time management and organization skills. Proven negotiation people management skills and effective critical thinking. Proven understanding of Lease. Exceptional oral and written communication.
Nice to Have
Experience with “Yardi” ERP system an asset.
What You'll Do.
Manage, maintain and improve annual CAPEX processes and projects, ensuring close coordination with Property Management teams.
Manage and support direct reports.
Prepare accurate and timely reports.
Assist with risk analysis and mitigation.
Prepare construction budgets and scheduling.
Manage, oversee or support tendering processes.
Management of multiple projects, including but not limited visiting sites to ensure disruption to operations is limited and projects stay on time & on budget.
Work closely with and provide support when needed to the Property Management group.
Review/Analyze leases.
Ensure that all Landlord and municipal requirements are met.
Manage and/or support projects to obtain Zoning Amendments / Site Plan Approval / Variances.
Have and maintain knowledge of Municipal processes.
Liaise with and direct Tenants and Partners regarding Municipal processes.
Participate in Commercial Construction led internal / external initiatives.
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Liaise with internal and external Asset Management, Property Management, Leasing, Procurement, Contractors, Consultants, Designers, Architects, Municipalities and Tenants. Work closely with and provide support when needed to the Property Management group. Liaise with and direct Tenants and Partners.
