What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelors Degree, 4+ years of experience in optics, physics, imaging, or related technical field, understanding of geometrical optics, aberration theory and MTF testing, Technical understanding of cameras/photography and design considerations for a security application, written documentation skills and ability to communicate optical concepts to non-engineers, Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and projects
Nice to Have
5+ years of experience in the area of lens or camera design, Experience with lens design/illumination software such as Code V, Zemax, LightTools, TracePro, Fred or similar, Experience writing scripts for computer vision, automation and analysis in Matlab, Python or equivalent with or without AI copilot, Experience with stray light analysis, optical coatings and related design considerations, Familiarity with active alignment of lenses and optical metrology instruments
