What You'll Do.
Technical ownership and execution of tasks
providing solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems related to the design
and production sustainment of various mechanical sub-systems
Communicate with cross-disciplined
engineering team members and suppliers to analyze
and document the design technical data package (TDP) and its capabilities and compliance with requirements
Serve in mentor role to junior engineers
providing technical guidance
Work autonomously with limited supervision
acting as the responsible engineer for major hardware subsystem
lead small teams of junior engineers
collaborate across multiple functions and disciplines
Perform mechanical design
and documentation of components
and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements
Collaborate with Raytheon factories and suppliers with new product integration and manufacturing process improvements
Perform and review tolerance analyses
Improve new and existing designs using Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Producibility principles
Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced
Support production of various mechanical sub-systems at internal factories and suppliers
Support first hardware builds and first article inspections
Review manufacturing process instructions and support material review board dispositions
Perform root cause investigations on hardware of production related issues
