directs critical activities requiring instrument knowledge and expertise
provides technical input in determining priority and scope of equipment repairs
review engineering projects and improvements to ensure compliance with refinery standards and good engineering practice
responsible for completion of engineering design
documentation and implementation for small refinery improvement and modification projects
works together with refinery Process Control group to identify control improvement opportunities
directs the efforts of third-party design engineering and construction contractors
support of refinery Operations and Optimization engineers in identifying strategic instrumentation and control opportunities that have high potential to improve operating efficiency and availability or to reduce maintenance costs
supports development of safety
protective or process logic system requirements and logic implementation
support Instrumentation Technicians in maintaining instrumentation and control system design and maintenance history documentation
identify new instrumentation technologies and evaluate for suitability and maintainability
develop application designs and assist with technician training

Sr Instrument Engineer PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Sr. Instrument Engineer to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located in our Toledo Refinery in Oregon OH. The Sr. Instrument Engineer will identify reliability improvement opportunities, identify and initiate refinery instrument projects and review instrument design for multi-discipline capital and expense projects. In addition, the Sr. Instrument Engineer will provide technical support for instrumentation and control system specification, installation, configuration and maintenance. This role also provides support for instrument engineering activities throughout the refinery.
