Amazon is seeking a partnership-focused, talented, and motivated Sr. Electrical Engineer (Panel Design) to work on the design of industrial automation electrical control panels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing the electrical connections inside industrial electrical AC/DC and DC/DC cabinets with voltages in the 100-600VAC and 5-60VDC ranges. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings. The candidate is expected to be able to own the entire electrical solution for our product, including specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing. This position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager. This team has directly designed the electronics in several robots, some of which have >750,000 units deployed throughout the Amazon’s global industrial Fulfillment Network – and our team is continuing to design more products with incredible impact! Key job responsibilities - Design Industrial Electrical Control Panel schematics following industry best practices. - Review specifications and schematics for compliance with relevant safety standards such as NFPA79 and UL508A. - Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification. - Specify, Integrate and Deploy AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies as part of Electrical - Control Panels in industrial automation equipment. - Specify, Integrate and Deploy semi-custom batteries in industrial automation systems. - Ensure the specifications of the power system meet the customer needs as well as regulatory requirements. - Coordinate all activities within the engineering discipline for the project. - Ensure coordination with other disciplines is effective for each project. - Thorough comprehension of technical principles and concepts in Electrical Engineering . - Write and develop functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures
