Key job responsibilities As a Senior MDE - Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for driving world class manufacturing automation solutions to scale our operations globally. This will involve innovating automation solutions for assembly processes providing mechanical hardware design and development leadership for concept development, hardware design, development, explore cutting edge technologies, and design equipment to realize process automation. You will be a key member of the development team and will be the main interface between the Hardware and local and offshore Operations teams within Lab126 and our OEM partners. The right candidate will possess solid understanding of technical principles and concepts in mechanical or mechatronics engineering. The candidate will have demonstrated experience leading complex design/engineering projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in complex inter-disciplinary systems. A day in the life Primary responsibilities include: 1. Innovate, design and develop cost effective assembly automation solutions. This will involve designing (3D CAD) of automation workcell layout. 2. Define, expand, and explore the design space for complex, multidisciplinary robotics and automation problems. 3. Derive functional and design requirements from Product Requirements Document, identify and analyze the cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives, including impact on performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scale. 4. Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production; including design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification. 5. Coordinate with all other cross-functions to ensure project success. 6. Possess a thorough understanding of technical principles and concepts in mechanical engineering. 7. Provide Mechanical Enginee
