Full Job Description
**Overview:** **Job Description Summary:** Leads Sponsored Projects Proposal Officer team in coordination with Sponsored Projects Manager. **Job Description:** **Essential Functions:** * Monitors upcoming proposal and workload for Sponsord Projects Officer Proposal team to plan and prepare for proposal deadlines. Assists with team metrics and workload distribution. Performs job performance evaluations of assigned staff and problem solving. * Monitors, reviews and evaluates proposal processes of the proposal team; assists management with assessing need, planning for improvement and facilitating implementation. * Maintains a current understanding of funding sponsors, their guidelines, and their priorities and informs Sponsord Projects Officer Proposal team of sponsor and system updates. * Assists SPOs and Sr. SPOs with troubleshooting of complex issues related to proposal preparation, project budget and other proposal components for proposal submission. * Performs quality control for funding proposals, analyzes results and implements new policies and procedures to ensure SPO review's process strengthen the quality of proposal submissions. Produces proposal metrics and reports for leadership. * Maintains a high level of professional knowledge through self-study, research, participation in professional development, and attendance at webinars and conferences. * Disseminates information on changes with NIH and other sponsors guidelines, forms, requirements, regulations, etc., and provides formal and informal training for faculty and staff. Develops, monitors and reviews training and onboarding plan. * Provides continuing education for staff. When needed, provides coverage for vacancies and leaves of absence, including all primary SPO responsibilities. **Education Requirement:** Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience, required. **Experience:** * Eight years of related experience, required. * Experience in research administration, accounting, or equivalent
