Must Have
Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Required, Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days Required, Master's Degree Required
Nice to Have
Certificate of Clinical Competence - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association within 2 Years Required
What You'll Do.
Providing a full range of therapeutic services including assessment
treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment
Identify and treat communication problems related to language and speech
as well as various swallowing issues
Improve communication skills through vocal exercises and cognitive therapies and work on swallowing deficits through various interventions
Review physician's referral (prescription)
and submitted medical records to determine speech therapy treatment
Evaluate patients' speech and or swallowing through various standardized tests and clinical observations and evaluation and records findings to develop treatment programs
Develop a treatment plan for patients with specific goals and tasks
Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient and incorporate proper interventions that can help patients’ speech and or swallow deficits
Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit
and progress in the patient’s electronic medical record and prepare reports as indicated by licensure
and or insurance recommendations
Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
Complete documentation per clinical / department guidelines and meets expectations of monthly department chart audits
Promote/educate Organizations Rehabilitation programs to referring physicians
and or co-workers by performing in-services and/or marketing activities
Reduce cancel/no-show rates to improve quality of care and patient outcomes
Achieve the established average monthly patient care productivity metric
Complete required orientation as directed by facility
