What They're Looking For.
Must Have
M. S. or M. A. in Speech Pathology granted by an accredited university program, Licensure is required in every US State and Territory the Therapist is practicing or is in Clinical Fellowship Year, SLP-CCC is required for therapists in the following States per Medicaid billing requirement: DC, NC, WV, KY, MN, NE, KS, NM, NV, ID, Possesses and maintains BLS certification to meet department/program protocol
What You'll Do.
Evaluating patient’s need for speech therapy
Planning and executing individual treatment programs
Keeping treatment skills upgraded
Performing job responsibilities in accordance with the program’s strategic objectives and goals
Providing patient care
Evaluating patient condition
Establishing treatment goals in collaboration with patient and family
Administering treatment for each patient
Delegating responsibilities to Speech Assistants
Re-evaluating patient’s status and effects of treatment
Revising treatment plan as necessary
Evaluating patient’s need for medical equipment and orders the appropriate equipment
Evaluating equipment upon delivery and instructs patient
and health care workers on its use
Participating in planning for patient discharge
Demonstrating competence in relevant software and hardware
Documenting patient’s status and progress
Communicating with others to integrate speech language pathology services
Participating in conferences/discussions
Instructing the patient and the family in speech language pathology procedures
Attending various meetings and in-services
Following all hospital policy and procedures
Meeting or exceeding program productivity expectations
Providing discipline specific coverage within the Mary Free Bed system
Adhering to the Mary Free Bed Standards of Behavior
Supporting program operations
