What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years of relevant experience in Pharmacy, Pharmacy Technician License - State of Michigan, Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification
Nice to Have
Retail or specialty pharmacy experience, Specialty Pharmacy experience, Prior Authorization experience, Retail Pharmacy experience, Full Michigan Pharmacy Technician License, National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
What You'll Do.
Coordinate prior authorization and prescription processing
Support prior authorization and specialty prescription coordination for external specialty pharmacies
Facilitate patient access to specialty medications
Drive utilization of internal specialty pharmacy services
Perform insurance benefit investigations and prior authorizations
Coordinate financial assistance
Resolve various adjudication errors and rejections
Communicate with clinic/office staff
and insurance companies
Provide exceptional customer service
and organize clinical information from patient charts
Perform all necessary aspects of the medication prior authorization process
Perform prescription data entry
and resolve third party exceptions
Identify patients eligible for financial assistance
Facilitate patient enrollment in programs to reduce out-of-pocket expense
Document activities in the appropriate system(s)
Develop collaborative working relationships with providers
Provide education to patients and clinic staff on the benefits and services provided by the Specialty Pharmacy
Facilitate patient enrollment in the Specialty Pharmacy Patient Management Program
Responsible for data collection and/or reporting related to assigned area/projects
Serve as a role model and leader in the department
Escalate any concerns identified in their area of work
Participate in training pharmacy team members
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Works closely with Specialty Clinics across all Corewell Health regions; Collaborates with insurance companies, pharmacies, and Corewell Health clinics; Works in collaboration with clinic and pharmacy staff; Develops collaborative working relationships with providers, clinics, and office-staff; Facilitate handoff among various team members
Communication Scope
Communicate directly with prescribing clinic/office staff, patients, and insurance companies; Provides exceptional customer service through telephone and/or in-person communications; Provides education to patients and clinic staff
