Knowledge and experience working with individuals with vision loss, Knowledgeable about disabilities and all life stages

What You'll Do.

Conduct assessments and document O&M needs

Identify and prioritize goals

Develop orientation & mobility service plan

Teach concept development

Teach spatial and sensory awareness

Teach pre-cane skills

Teach cane techniques

Provide support in assertiveness/advocacy skills

Provide information in electronic travel aids

Teach sighted guide to family members

Act as resource for guide dog schools

Provide skill development for guide dogs

Work with guide dog schools

Act as resource for accessible design

Maintain case data and documentation

Perform administrative duties

Liaise with community-based rehabilitation teams

Build relationships with agencies

Build relationships with schools

Build relationships with partners

Build relationships with stakeholders

Provide support to individuals

Provide support to families

Consult with individuals

Consult with families

Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings

Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings

Promote understanding of vision health issues
