What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or state equivalent, Minimum of two years of college or related trade schooling, Minimum of four (4) years of experience with high-pressure steam systems, Valid U. S. driver's license with a clean driving record, City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License, EPA Universal Certification, Current member in good standing with Local 399
Nice to Have
Thorough knowledge of building systems, Practical experience with thermodynamic, electrical, and mechanical systems, Practical experience with computer-controlled equipment, Working knowledge of computer applications, Ability to identify, enforce, and assess safety hazards and risks, Participation in incident investigations, Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex facility equipment issues, Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and team members

Operate facility systems in accordance with government and

Inspect HVAC systems and equipment
Change parts in HVAC systems and equipment
Record readings for HVAC systems and equipment
Monitor pricing of outside contractors
Monitor work quality of outside contractors
Review monthly Client Service Request summaries
Identify recurrent operational problems
Correct recurrent operational problems
Respond to customer inquiries
Assist with emergency situations
Take appropriate action during emergencies
Maintain a clean and safe workplace
Comply with departmental policies for safe storage of

This part-time vacation relief position requires strong technical expertise in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems. You will demonstrate deep knowledge in one specialized craft area—such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations—while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities across others. Your work directly contributes to JLL's commitment to operational excellence, energy efficiency, and exceptional client satisfaction.
