_**Job Description:**_ _**Please Note:** This recruitment is being conducted to establish an **eligibility list** to fill current and future vacancies as they arise. Candidates who meet the qualifications and successfully complete the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list._ Performs general maintenance work at the solid waste transfer facility. Work involves operating mechanical device to compact solid waste and performing related duties at the facility. Work requires ability to follow instructions and is performed under close to general supervision. **Essential Job Functions** Sweeps and cleans outside compactor site or transfer facility. Operates compactor. Assigns tasks to community service workers Works outside in the harsh elements Handles and sorts glass, cans, plastic, flatten cardboard. Handles and sorts electronics. Assists customers with trash and recycling materials. Maintains written log of site activities. Orders supplies. Cleans office, shed, and restroom. Paints poles, boxes, and signs. Communicates with the scale house Reports items needing repaired Prepares recyclable materials for collection and transport. **Other Duties** Performs related work as required. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.)** Knowledge of-- * Recycling materials.
