Who we are looking for We are seeking a Software Engineering Lead (AVP) to provide hands‑on technical leadership for custody and securities processing platforms, with a strong focus on mainframe‑based systems. This role combines deep technical expertise, Agile delivery, and day‑to‑day guidance of small development teams supporting mission‑critical applications. Work Arrangement: North Quincy, MA What you will be responsible for As the Software Engineering Lead – Custody Platforms: * Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL, PL/I, JCL, DB2, CICS, MQ, and batch processing frameworks * Provide hands‑on support for testing cycles and production issues, including job abend analysis and log review * Deliver technical leadership across architecture, system design, and code quality, including active participation in design and code reviews * Embed and continuously improve Agile delivery practices across backlog management, sprint execution, and release planning * Lead and mentor offshore mainframe developers while remaining hands‑on across development, testing, and production support * Apply Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies to improve delivery predictability, efficiency, and quality * Drive increased automation and straight‑through processing, including the use of AI and Agentic AI to enhance exception management, reconciliation, and operational efficiency What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role: * Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities in complex environments * Proven software engineering experience supporting custody platforms, securities processing, or post‑trade systems (e.g., settlements, asset servicing, corporate actions) * Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem‑solving capabilities * Experience leading junior developers, including extensive code review and technical mentorship * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across glob
