What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production-grade distributed systems. proficiency in Go, with additional experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Rust, or Zig. Deep understanding of distributed systems principles, including fault tolerance, consistency, and scalability. knowledge of low-level system concepts such as memory management, networking, storage, and concurrency. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure. Proven experience working with large-scale Postgres deployments or similar database systems in production. problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently in complex technical environments. Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and stakeholders. Ability to thrive in remote, distributed engineering teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is highly desirable. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices and modern DevOps workflows is a plus. Experience in database-as-a-service platforms or open-source database ecosystems is a advantage.

Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand workload patterns and translate them into platform enhancements.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in observability, reliability engineering, and operational excellence.
