What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution and four years related experience, Experience programming under Linux or Unix, Experience with C, C++, JAVA, ACL, or Jview, Must be a self-motivated, team player comfortable with working in a dynamic environment, Must have a valid U. S. driver's license, Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication, Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements, Must maintain a positive work atmosphere

Nice to Have

Knowledgeable of software testing and test analysis (regression, timing, failure, etc.), Understanding of the configuration, build, and delivery authorization processes of software development/delivery, Previous experience with Agile or other similar software methodologies, Experience with the full life cycle of software processes (design, development, and delivery) for highly critical software, Government security clearance may be required in the future

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. The Spaceflight Processing, Test Integration Department is looking for highly qualified Engineering candidates to join the SLS/Orion Ground Launch Sequencer (GLS) software development team supporting software development and launch activities at the Kennedy Space Center, which will include but is not limited to: • Maintenance of GLS software products to include creating requirements, composing supporting documentation, developing code, developing unit tests, participating in code peer reviews, writing, and executing test procedures for verification and validation tests, and data review. • Initiate/disposition Non-conformances, debugging, participating in code fixes, code and documentation peer review and testing. • Firing room operations supporting Integration Console for launch countdown, launch simulations, and launch test events. •Communication using headset with Test Conductors, system engineers within the firing room and at remote locations to ensure time critical testing for problem resolution. • Communicate with the software developer group, other users, and with management as well as with the wider community through the publishing and presentation of technical papers. • Regular status updates will be required to show progress and annunciate road-blocks ea
