The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U. S. states. You will: Develop, test, and deploy features for Waymo's next-generation offboard weather systems and infrastructure under the guidance of tech leads. Implement and maintain scalable data pipelines for weather data ingestion, processing, and storage. Contribute to the development and enhancement of real-time and forecasting weather applications. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions. Ensure high performance, code health, and stability for systems vital to safe fleet operations in diverse weather environments. Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and write comprehensive technical documentation. You Have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. 4+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages. Strong foundation in computer science (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems). Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional partners. We prefer: Experience in C++ Familiarity with Google infrastructure (e. g. Flume, Borg, Protocol Buffers, OnePlatform) Experience with payments, billing, or fintech systems where correctness is non-negotiable.
