Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. In this role, you will bring that vision to life by designing, developing and testing the embedded satellite software and ground services that control individual satellites. In this role, you will manage a team responsible for embedded software and cloud services for the Leo satellites. Our focuses are on reliability, efficiency, safety, and security. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of engineering experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - 3+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience - 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification
