Amazon World Wide Grocery Store Tech is seeking an experienced and proven Software Development Engineer (SDE) to lead medium to large cross-functional strategic initiatives that support WWGST strategic goals. This is a unique opportunity for someone inspired by WWGST core values and is interested in Amazon’s high-growth grocery business to bring their whole self to the role. Key job responsibilities As an SDE, you are responsible for setting a high bar throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software and application development, AWS technologies, business judgment, curiosity, and superior written and verbal communication skills. He/she will work closely with the business and technical teams to analyze many non-standard and unique business problems and use creative problem solving to deliver results. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and be creative while paying careful attention to detail and will enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems - Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations - Bachelor's degree or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standard
