Job Description The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions and frameworks that support the quality and reliability of SmartRent products. This role builds and enhances scalable automation frameworks and integrates automated testing into CI pipelines to support continuous quality validation across platform and device functionality. The SDET works closely with developers and QA team members to embed automation into the development lifecycle, design and execute test strategies across functional, integration, API, and end-to-end testing, and perform code reviews to ensure automation quality and consistency. This role also focuses on continuously improving testing processes and methodologies, evaluating and incorporating AI tools to shift automation earlier in the development process, and independently determining effective technical approaches to testing solutions. The SDET contributes to refining existing procedures and developing forward-looking testing models that support reliable, scalable product delivery.
