Join the SCOT (Supply Chain Optimization Technologies) Forecasting team, where you'll work on forecasting models that help Amazon predict and optimize inventory across our global network. As a Software Development Engineer on the SCOT Forecasting model engineering team, you'll use innovative technology to solve complex problems and see the impact of your work first-hand on millions of products and customers worldwide. Key job responsibilities Build Scalable Forecasting Systems : - Design and develop large-scale, distributed forecasting systems that process massive datasets to predict demand across Amazon's supply chain - Create solutions to run ML predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed - Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use Drive Innovation in Forecasting Technology : - Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians including ML scientists, product managers, and operations teams to conceive, design, and bring innovative forecasting products and services to market - Design and build technologies that lead fundamental changes in how Amazon approaches demand forecasting and inventory optimization - Work with new wave ML frameworks and forecasting algorithms to improve prediction accuracy and system performance Deliver High-Quality Software : - Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems in the forecasting domain - Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software with development cycles measured in weeks, not years - Participate in code reviews, establish coding standards, and m
