We are seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join our Ads/Merchandising engineering team in Mexico City. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing and delivering scalable, low-latency systems that power device discovery and purchase experiences across Amazon's e-commerce channels. In this role, you will own features end-to-end -- from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support. You will build the services and tools behind personalization, multivariate testing, bundles, upsells, and installment options that drive incremental device sales for Echo, Fire TV, Ring, Kindle, and more. You'll drive architecture decisions for critical systems, evaluating complex business and technical requirements and communicating tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You'll collaborate directly with product, UX, and data science to turn ambiguous customer problems into shipped experiments with measurable impact. You own what you build -- monitoring production systems, responding to operational issues, and continuously improving availability and performance. You'll also raise the engineering bar through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship of junior engineers.
