What They're Looking For.
Must Have
2+ years of professional software engineering experience, Experience building and operating backend systems in a production environment, fundamentals in system design, data modeling, and performance optimization, Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e. g. , Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or similar), Familiarity with distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and cloud environments (AWS preferred), A track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable code in a collaborative environment

About the Role: The Trust Platform team builds and maintains the systems that orchestrate fraud detection, identity verification, and regulatory reporting across all Remitly products. Our mission is to keep customers safe and Remitly compliant while ensuring fast, reliable, and user friendly identity verification. As an SDE I on Trust Platform, you will develop systems that are foundational to Remitly's business. You'll contribute to initiatives that improve KYC/identity verification, regulatory screening, fraud detection, and compliance reporting, ensuring these services are scalable, fault-tolerant, and reusable across products. You'll work closely with engineering managers, product, and analytics partners to provide high-impact features and platform capabilities that keep Remitly compliant while providing a seamless customer experience. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Trust Orchestration Platform. You Will: * Contribute to the design and development of core Trust Platform services. * Deliver reliable, secure, and performant backend system
