EC2 VPC builds the control plane that powers networking for every EC2 instance launched worldwide. The team is looking for an experienced software development engineer to design and build highly-available, horizontally-scalable services operating across all AWS regions. This position is based in Herndon, VA. Key job responsibilities - Design and build server-side APIs and asynchronous workflows in Java and Kotlin that operate at EC2 scale across all AWS regions - Own services end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring - Troubleshoot and root-cause customer-impacting issues across distributed systems - Write and review design documents for new features and system improvements - Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and code reviews - Participate in on-call rotations and drive operational improvements to improve availability - Build and maintain automation tooling in Python and Ruby to support deployment safety and fleet operations A day in the life On
