At Amazon, we hire the best minds in technology to innovate and build on behalf of our customers. The focus we have on our customers is why we are one of the world's most beloved brands – customer obsession is part of our company DNA. Our Software Development Engineers (SDEs) use technology to solve complex problems and get to see the impact of their work first-hand. What You'll Work On As an SDE-2 in Buyer Abuse Engineering, you will design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems that sit at the heart of Amazon's abuse prevention pipeline. Outcome Processing & Enforcement – Build platforms that transform investigation decisions into secure, auditable actions — whether account restrictions, holds, or graduated interventions — with full traceability for compliance and customer appeal. Investigator Tooling & Abuse Detection – Develop tools and services that empower human investigators and automated systems to identify and act on abuse patterns efficiently and accurately. Context-Aware Decision Systems – Contribute to systems that consider customer history, behavior patterns, and risk profiles to apply proportionate, context-sensitive responses rather than one-size-fits-all enforcement. Security & Auditability – Enforce strict security controls, comprehensive logging, and separation of concerns to support compliance, audit requirements, and customer recourse workflows. Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with product managers, applied scientists, and peer engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that balance abuse prevention with customer ex
