The Alexa AI org is seeking a talented, self-directed Senior Software Development Engineer to tackle some of the most interesting problems on the leading edge of language solutions and machine learning (ML) within our Alexa Artificial Intelligence (AI) org. You will help us in pioneering new machine learning tools and processes through an iterative research and development cycle. You will build scalable, self-serve applications for use across the Alexa AI organization. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy as you work with a small team of subject matter experts and engineers to define features, system architecture, best practices. You will work with Engineers and Scientists on the team to execute our technical vision and create world class products. Key job responsibilities You will lead the design, development, testing and deployment of cross team projects, meet with stakeholders, drive execution, and mentor junior engineers. You will be an independent technical leader, capable of working on your own and guiding team members to navigate complex problems. In this role, you will lead and architect cloud services which will streamline connectivity between Alexa-enabled devices and Alexa Cloud. You will influence architecture across the Alexa ecosystem and play a pivotal role in designing the future of Alexa. You will lead projects to streamline team processes and create mechanisms to effectively deliver projects A day in the life You will be the technical leader responsible for service design, development, and operations. You will brainstorm new ideas and work on forward looking architectures and design with Principal Engineers and other Senior Engineers. You will architect, analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy software features and fix defects. You will participate in sprint planning
