What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in a related field (i. e. advertising, communications, marketing, creative writing, etc. ) or bachelor's degree in a non-related field with significant knowledge of and experience with social media and content creation.
Nice to Have
writing and storytelling, with the ability to adapt voice across audiences and platforms, Video-first content production—shooting, editing and a sharp instinct for short-form pacing and clarity, Solid technical toolkit—digital photography, production equipment (cameras, mics, tripods), and competency with video editing and office software, Social media experience and fluency—cross-platform (Instagram, TikTok, etc. ) understanding and skills, with a grasp of trends, culture, and native content formats (experience with Reddit, Discord, Wikipedia, and other social-adjacent platforms a plus), Confident, personable communicator—comfortable engaging others, conducting interviews, and representing the institution with sound judgment and professionalism, Adaptable, easygoing, professional, collaborative, and service-oriented—able to take direction, incorporate feedback, pivot quickly, and support a community-focused, customer-first approach
