Full Job Description
The team that built the innovative Silicon IP AZ1 Neural Edge powering the latest generation of Echo devices is looking for an SoC Lab Technician to support post-silicon validation and lab operations as we continue to innovate on behalf of our customers. We are part of Amazon Lab126 that revolutionized reading with Kindle and reimagined user experience through Echo and Alexa. Key job responsibilities SoC Lab Technician will be responsible for day-to-day hardware debug and board bring-up activities, including probing, rework, and root-cause analysis of prototype boards. This role requires strong hands-on skills in soldering and desoldering fine-pitch components, probes, wires, and connectors on multi-layer PCBs. The technician will read and interpret schematics and layouts to trace signal paths, identify component placement, and support electrical validation engineers in setting up measurement benches for high-speed and low-speed interfaces testing. Key responsibilities include planning and maintaining lab infrastructure — rack layouts, power distribution, cable management, thermal chamber placement, and ESD-safe workstations — to ensure efficient and safe operations. The role involves close coordination with internal cross-functional teams (silicon ATE, firmware, validation, logistic/IT/GREF etc) and external vendors for equipment procurement, and calibration services. The technician will own lab inventory tracking, manage equipment calibration schedules, and ensure all test assets are accounted for and available when needed. Additionally, they will document standard operating procedures, maintain setup photographs and wiring diagrams, and train new team members on lab protocols and safety practices.
