Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, Systems engineering applied to satellites, Systems engineering processes, methods and tools, Mission analysis, constellation deployment strategies, multi-orbit analyses (LEO, VLEO), ECSS Standards, Space systems verification and validation, Execution of program milestones and reviews, background in the industrialisation of satellite systems, Deep knowledge of the processes and methods of space systems development, verification, validation and operation, Experience in developing and executing functional validation tests on platform and spacecraft level, Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams., Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for satellite development and testing, such as ECSS, MIL-STD, and CCSDS., Spanish language proficiency, English language proficiency

What You'll Do.
lead the engineering efforts for satellite development projects, focus on the industrialization, design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing of small- and mid-sized satellites, development of a (V)LEO satellite product line, lead the design, development and testing of satellite systems, with a focus on the platform and its building blocks as core element for a smallsat product line for Earth Observation, Derive, from mission requirements, satellite system specifications, and lower level specifications for subsystems and equipment, Identify market / business driven requirements, and derive from these needs the appropriate satellite system and subsystem requirements (e.
connectivity, on-board processing capabilities, etc.
), Drive the adaptation of existing satellite product lines to ensure satisfying customer requirements while enabling mid-scale industrialization of the satellite concept, Support the definition of the industrial policy for small satellites, identifying partners and subcontractors, leading co-engineering activities with them, and supporting the selection and procurement process of the satellite components, Establish and maintain satellite level engineering budgets (mass, power, data volume, pointing, etc.
), Define the verification and validation logic for the product line, including identification of verification methods for satellite system / subsystem specifications, and verification close-out process in the course of development, Contribute to the execution of program milestones and reviews, deployment of novel engineering methods, processes and tools (e.
MBSE, multi-disciplinary analyses, concurrent design engineering…), digitalisation of our design, development and manufacturing processes (e.
DDMS), and their smooth implementation across all involved disciplines, development of novel features into existing product lines and/or upgrading of existing product lines to cope with those novel features, as dictated by the business.

****Job Description:**** **Job Description: ** A vacancy for a Space System Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Madrid (Getafe). The successful applicant will join the EOS Chief Engineering Department in Spain (TSESS). We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Systems Engineer with a background in small satellite and constellation systems development. In this role, you will lead the engineering efforts for satellite development projects, with a particular emphasis on the industrialization, design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing of small- and mid-sized satellites. The main focus of this position is the development of a (V)LEO satellite product line with potential for defence and institutional missions (constellations and stand-alone small satellites).
