What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor of Social Work or a related degree, Current Registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in the social services sector, Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a management role, Knowledge of the VAW sector, relevant legislation, and sector best practices, Valid First Aid/CPR certification

Nice to Have

Experience in a unionized work environment is preferred, Experience in program development, facilitation, and staff training is an asset

What You'll Do.

Oversee day-to-day shelter operations

Contribute to the development of programs

Manage day-to-day emergency shelter operations to ensure effective service delivery

Support case management processes

Respond to crises as required

Collaborate with the Program Director or designate to develop and implement short- and long-term program goals

Assist in the development of new services and programming for women and children

Conduct investigations into internal client complaints and see through resolutions

Supervise frontline staff and shelter personnel

Organize and facilitate regular team meetings

Provide regular coaching and performance evaluations for staff

Support development through training opportunities and a professional growth program

Maintain up-to-date files and conduct regular audits of all supervision and performance management files

Mediate workplace conflicts when necessary

Participate in the recruitment of shelter personnel

Oversee timecard compliance

Address disciplinary issues and participate in grievance procedures

Oversee day-to-day facility operations in collaboration with the maintenance team and external contractors

Ensure timely response to repairs
