Full Job Description
Do you want to dive in the fast-growing industry of drones and get a rewarding experience in a dynamic scale-up environment? At Flyability, we believe that robots should be sent into hazardous places and dangerous environments instead of humans. To support our belief, we created Elios, the world’s first collision-tolerant flying robot that can safely enter, survey, and inspect confined spaces so that people don’t have to. With more than 130 employees, Flyability is the pioneer in the UAS indoor inspection industry. Joining Flyability is not just taking on a new job; it is seizing the opportunity to improve the lives of millions of people and contribute to the future of robotics. To complete our creative and dynamic team in Lausanne, we are seeking a **Sensor Systems Engineer (100%)** _Starting date: as soon as possible_ **Your role:** We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Sensor Systems Engineer to join our Hardware team and contribute to the development of advanced sensor suites for drones. While a significant portion of your work will focus on multi-camera systems and embedded vision platforms, you will also play a key part in selecting and integrating other vital sensor systems—such as lidars, IMUs, barometers, and GNSS. You will work on the full sensor development pipeline, from sensor and lens selection to Linux integration, timing synchronization, calibration, aging validation, debugging, and system validation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across optics, embedded systems, general sensor hardware, and software, and who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving R&D environment with significant technical ownership. In this role, you will collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, mechanical, and software teams during integration and validation to ensure optimal sensor performance. **What you will own:** * Designing and developing embedded sensor systems—including cameras, lidars, IMUs, barometers, magnetometers, and GNSS—for drone
